They say the darnest things...

So I was sitting in the car with Haley on our way to Walmart and out of the blue she says to me "Mom I want to shave my eyebrows" and I say to her "Why would you want to do a thing like that" and she says "Friends at my school do it" and I say "Oh really, but your only in third grade and there is nothing wrong with your eyebrows" and she says "But you have to if they get big and thick like this" (and she shows me how big with her fingers: and so I say her to "haley your eyebrows are fine you dont need to worry about them" and she says" everyone in our family needs to except the boys". Oh My where she got this from I am not even sure, but shes soon to be 9 so I guess alot of unexpected things are to come.......

The one handed drinker

So often times we will see Natalie drinking from her sippy cup with no hands; I happened to walk by the bathroom; hm with the bathroom door open (remind me when I get a chance to talk to Natalie about proper bathroom etiquette), but in any case here she was again drinking her milk and using the potty at once. I have this feeling shes going to be an excellent multi-tasker when she gets older.

Bed Time Rituals

So I thought I would ask for some suggestions on what other people are doing to get there 3 1/2 year olds into bed. So I will describe a typical night with our sweet sweet little boy; 7:30 its bathtime and than abou 8pm were getting pajams on and than we read a book, by this time its 8:30 pm; we get all tucked in and about 10 minutes later I hear little foot steps that are sneaking down the stairs; He comes down stair and it goes something like this
Mommy: "Its time for bed Jared go to bed"
Jared: "I want a kiss hug"
Mommy (gives jared his kiss & hug) and says "ok Jared now get upstairs and go to bed"
Jared:"ok Im tired"
---5-10 min. later--- those same foot steps are creeping up on my slowly
Mommy:" Jared what did I tell you its time for bed"
Jared: "I need some water"
Mommy "ok Ill get you some water than its time for bed"(I give him a small glass of water and send him off to bed)
------5-10 min. later----there he is again, but this time I didnt hear him
Mommy:"Jared you have school tommorrow get to bed"
Jared:"come tuck me in"
Mommy (walks upstairs & tucks Jared in and says "goodnight and no playing in the bathroom and go to sleep"
Jared: "sleep with me"
Mommy: "no Jared Mommy has stuff to get done before I go to bed"
Jared: "I want sleep in your bed"
Mommy: "no Jared your a big boy who sleeps in his big boy bed"
Jared: "uhh Im tired"
Mommy: (gives Jared another hug/kiss)"ok than go to bed"
---Normally now this time hes finaly gone to bed, hear how I said normally; there are those mornings I find a little boys hand in my face or feet on my stomach and who would of guessed but my little Jared.

Well thats our typical night with a our little sneak... Any suggestions to keep him in bed the 1st time, he doenst get any lights, or movies (last time we did movies he stayed up 2x as long), hes "suppossed" to stay quiet in his room and go to bed. Yea right-hes a boy and hes 3 what more could I expect froma little boy who bats his eyes at me and makes cute faces to get me to melt.

Well good night to all.

Halloween Ideas Part 1

I often get emails from a website called FamilyFun.com; and it has some terrific ideas for recipies, crafts and alot of things geared toward kids. Something I found a couple of fantastick ideas for leftover Halloween candy:
SWEET BUSTERS (this is copied/pasted right from Family Fun)
The Barr family of Dayton, Ohio, traditionally offers up excess treats to the Great Pumpkin. After trick-or-treating, Clay, Gracie, and Caden (ages 10, 8, and 6) come home with about 10 pounds of candy, says their mother, Mary. That night they eat their fill and then pack a small sandwich bag with their favorite sweets. The rest of the candy goes into a container in front of the fireplace. While the kids sleep, the Great Pumpkin takes the loot to a local food bank and leaves a small toy for each child. One year, appropriately, the Great Pumpkin left electric toothbrushes.
To keep her 4-year-old son, Asa, from eating too much candy, Heidi Kuharich of West Chicago, Illinois, decided to call in the Sugar Witch. Think of a Tooth Fairy who collects candy instead of teeth. Sometime after Halloween, the witch calls the Kuharich house when she knows no one is home and leaves a message for Asa asking him to leave a bag of candy on the front step. In exchange, she leaves him a little token, usually a toy car, and a thank-you note.
Here is a neat recipie that I am going to try with the kids :

RECIPE INGREDIENTS:
4-inch lollipop sticks
Melon baller
Granny Smith apples (one apple makes about 8 mini apples)
Butterscotch or peanut butter chips
Chopped nuts, nonpareils, sprinkles, shredded coconut (optional)
Small paper candy cups
1. First, cut the lollipop sticks in half at an angle (the pointy end will go into the apple pieces easier). With the melon baller, scoop little balls out of the apple. Each ball should have a section of apple peel. Push half of a lollipop stick into the peel of each ball. Pat the apple pieces dry. 2. Melt the chips according to the package directions. Dip and swirl the mini apples in the melted chips, then roll the apples in nuts, sprinkles, nonpareils, or coconut, if desired. Place the mini apples in paper candy cups to set.

Ill post more ideas as I get them.

WI Dells weekend

We recently went to the Dells a couple of weekend agos and had a blast; here are a few of those pics. THe place we went to The Wilderness was so cool. They have about 3 indoor waterparks, about 4-5 outdoor waterparks, alot of different places to eat, another hotel added onto it, called the Glacier Canyon and an Indoor Soft Play about 3-4 stories high. I would of loved to get pics of our room, because it was located in the Glacier Canyon and was a 2 BDRM with 1 1/2 baths, a fireplace, a balcony and in the 2nd bedroom the beds were more like bunkbeds with a full size on the bottom and a twin on top. It had a full kitchen so we brought our own food and it was just wonderful and the price was wonderful I might add. Well here are some pics and if you want to visit the website it is http://www.wildernessresort.com/.

This Pic below is another outdoor waterpark, we did not use this one and this is only part of it.

This pic below is another view of the waterpark we spent most of our time at.

This pic below part of one of the indoor waterparks we spent most of our time at.

This pic below is right outside our room of one of the outdoor waterparks .

Defintly a place I recommend anyone to go its well worth the price all year round and your waterpark passes are included in your stay for the whole time you are there and before and after you check in/out.
To see the rest of our pics please check out
Alright well have a nice night!!
